Mawwaige. Mawwaige is what bwings us togethah today. Mawwaige that bwessed awwangement, that dweam within a dweam.

Mawwaige...er Marriage. What has happened in the water of the world that just about everyone I know is having marriage problems? From the petty fights to the full blown divorces, marriage isn't what its cracked up to be lately in my circle of friends.

According to some news sources, The jump in the number of divorces has come recently, with statistics showing that the number has doubled in the last three years alone. Why is this anyway? What has made Americans (and Canadians) feel divorce is the best answer?

I, personally, hate the word..the thought of it gives me nightmares. Why do people give up so easily? Do we live in such a face paced world that everything should equate to fast food levels? What happened to the turkey that takes all day to cook? Don't people realize that things have fluxes and take time and need work and TLC? I just hate to see so many give up so easily. I, for one, would never give up so easily.

So hang in there...from the petty arguments, to the life changes, to the ones who are fed up beyond repair. Who am I to give love advice? I love my husband, very much. That has to count for something, right?

American Turkey Day

"Anya: To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie. " (to quote one of my favorite shows, buffy the vampire slayer)

So were traveling to perform our ritual sacrifice in another state. A colder, less populated state...with pie...and family. Going to see The Master's parents and 2 step sisters and one brother and a few nieces and nephews. Shouldn't be that big a to do and hopefully trouble and volume will have a good time. So I've been spending my days cleaning and getting ready for that. No deep thoughts here, just deep cleaning and heavy packing. just warning you blogger fans that I won't get back to my blogging until after the trip. ;)

Have a good turkey day, Americans. Canadians, have a good weekend. All the rest of you, have a good whatever it happens to be in your country. Miss ya all!

The Life of Weekends...

You start out life as a kid, and before school begins, every day seems like a weekend. The only difference on the weekends is perhaps that visit to grandmas or the fact that dad or mom is home and not at work. Sometimes, those weekends even fell midweek depending on mom or dad's job. All was great in the life of a preschooler.

Then, starting school, you LIVED for the weekends! Saturday morning cartoons...Bike rides with freinds...Snowball fights and in general, just relaxation. Yes, there were always chores and what not, but those were such a small part of the weekend. Summer vacation went by so fast as the longest weekend of the year and holiday weeks were always too short.

As an adult, single adult, weekends (Whenever they fell) were for socilization. Gaming, Parties, What not always fell after work. You worked to get more money to party and to get by on ramen and pay the bills you HAD too. Weekends were YOUR time and they were fun. Yeah, sometimes chaotic or things didn't go your way, but weekends were yours!

Get married and those weekends, though sometimes contain errands, are spent with that one you love the most. Going to see movies, gaming, parties, just cuddling at home...whatever. Still fun, but getting a bit more relaxed. Mostly weekends are still a good time.

Then you have kids and the weekends start all over, but now they are for them. Your weekends become secondary to their needs and the needs of things to get done. Not to say they aren't still fun at times, but they are also packed with everything NEEDING to get done. Hence the cycle of weekends shifts to the new generation.

Hence my summation of weekends...and hating why I always seem to get sick on the weekends too. I have good ones...even great ones, but I miss the carefree days of weekends past.

What If....

A friend of mine, we'll call him Bear. We were having one of our normal existential discussions. The two most powerful words to fuck with your mind, we decided, are "What If" followed by the infamous ? To make it complete.

WHAT IF?

It send your brain reeling in every direction no matter what topic its applied too. Think about it and apply it to something in your life and see where it takes you. It can be a nightmare or a joy. Hope, disappointment. The fact that it can take you in just about every direction makes those two very simple words, combined, some of the most powerful words in the universe.

I have found the best way to counter these words is with faith. Were all prejudiced, says my friend LIVE from California. (for Evil is Live spelled backwards, and we all want to live don't we?) We pre-judge everything based on our previous experiences. We don't think that the bus we ride on will crash, so we get on it. Prejudice. So if we have FAITH that the "What If's" will or will not happen the way we hope or have faith they will. So in turn, we trust as well. Its all a big loop that leads to pessimism and optimism. I'm normally an optimist, glass is half full....

Sometimes, I say, just drink it.

I love it so much I have to share it with all. Its my wallpaper on my downnstairs computer now as well. Thank you Eflie-smurf...this shout out is for you and your amazing talent. The master pointed out the torso to me, I was so facinated by the colors I didn't even see it *laugh*

I'll be sending her a song even if she didn't comment, she deserves it!
