6:20 is TOO EARLY

That's what time my children have been getting up the past few days. Yesterday, I slept instead of going to the grocery store in the morning once I got them off to school. I think its a time that should only be seen by highschoolers, not preschoolers. but my kids like the morning...I used to. Oh well, I guess my life is starting a bit earlier now.

I've been feeling a lack of ambition lately. I'm not sure if this has to do with the fact that we've gotten a lot of projects done lately or the fact that some of them aren't working. I sold my first year of playboys on ebay only to find out you can't sell playboys on ebay. Other people list them on Ebay but every time I try I get an email telling me that you can't sell explicit erotic material on ebay. so I have no idea what were going to do with that many playboys....anyone want them?

I also have 3 boxes of comics upstairs I need to go through and get them listed and photographed. I have a NWN project for Tomeweaver (www.tomeweaver.net) and a house I have to build for my nephews there. I have several games that I adore lately and would rather do those than ANY of the above. I also have two very needy little boys who seem to be catching every preschool bug known to man. All in all, leads to a lack of ambition. Then I turn around and complain I'm bored. Its not that I don't have things to do, but like that little kid who also complains they are bored, I have nothing FUN to do at that time.

Ah well, I try to stay optimistic, but it fails me sometimes. So theres where I'm at. Up too early, changing too many diapers and not playing enough games.

The Tumbling Bird Slayer

Yes, it has been a busy few days. Oh where to start? *laughs* Dramaqueen's cleaning lady did a great job on my house. It looks and smells fantastic (well, till someone had a dirty diaper). It's nice to have a clean house again. The bad thing was, while they were cleaning, they had cords up and down the stairs and in my haste to get to a child, I slipped on one of them on the stairs. I don't think I made a totally successful tumble check, for I had to grab the metal railing with my hand to avoid going down more than half the stairs. I have a nice bruise on my hand to show for it. My body also feels like I've been mauled by a rather large bear. Which, in fact is what I dreamt about last night. It also had nothing to do with the fact that I killed and skinned like 20 of them on World of Warcraft. *shakes head adamantly*

As far as the bird goes, no...I'm not talking WoW speak again. I went downstairs at about 8am to stick the boys laundry in. As I opened the laundry room door, I was met with a fast flying object and almost freaked. It flew AWAY from me, thankfully, but it still needed NOT to be in my basement. We have some vent thingy that we need to cover with mesh. We've had mice get in this way too. Notice it's still not covered with mesh. Mainly because Master has a busy week at work. We'll get to it this weekend.

So, we get the kids off to school and head downstairs armed with laundry baskets to catch the speedy bird. Its harder than it looks. Esp when there are all kinds of places for it to fly and land in in the celing. Pipes are good for that. So we finally start throwing the baskets at it, and that isn't working either. Master finally smacks it with his, stunning it to the floor...or so we thought. Apparently, it killed it. We got it out of the house and stuck it in the neighbors bushes. That'll teach them to let poison ivy grow on our fence! *grin*

So I killed an innnocent creature and am paying for it with mass amounts of pain from my fall. Cest la vie...life does go on.

Volume is a FLIRT!

So, we started taking swimming lessons last week. Its on Saturdays from 9-10 about 30 min away. Its worth it, because they both LOVE the water. So far, its been play-around-in-the-water-time more than anything else. Our second trip in, we had a new instructor, Heather. She came over to talk to us and I was holding Volume in my arms (my turn for the spaz in the pool). She was talking and he just turned and jumped into her arms! He was giggling and playing with her hair and she could see we were pretty shocked. We mentioned the autism before that, and she said she taught the therapeutic class right after this one and she would check on if they were old enough for it or not. Through out the lesson, he did this 2 more times, jumping into her arms. I think our Volume has his first "crush" on his teacher *grins*.

In other news, we have been on an organizational trip lately. We have the comics done, a few closets, went through the kids toys, and have made several trips to goodwill. All in all, if we had to move right now, we would still have a ton of stuff, but less of it. *laughs* It's been nice for making the house look better.

We are all well, finally, and DramaQueen decided to do me a favor and purchased a house cleaning for me. Hence why I can blog today instead of spending this free time cleaning. They come tomorrow morning and I could NOT be happier. I've been on clutter patrol today to make sure they can do the GOOD cleaning and not spend most of their time picking up stuff. It'll be nice to have that deep down clean in Jan without having to do it.

So thats the main news here. Kinda boring. For January, not half bad.

BLAME CANADA!!!

Ok, blame them for making some really cool people. My shout out today is for a handful of them, but so far, most I've met are pretty ok. *grins*

In Alphabetical order, so no one gets upset ;)

Maven (her real name fits here). My sister in geekdom, my partner in crime, my phone buddy that I can sit on the phone with and have us both dealing with our kids for 40 min! We may have started from the humble beginnings of the MUD, but we've come OH SO FAR!

Andrew. My favorite Canadian mechanic. You came from geeky orgins, though you deny it now. We met on a MUD and then at Maven's Wedding and then re-met about 8-9 years later and figured out we have more in common now. You can always make me smile. *hugs*

Em. We met through Maven and Drew and while were not always close, I've found that when we seem to need each other the most, we pull through. Its not something I find in most people I know. So thanks for being there when I needed you. I hope I've done the same.

JobThingy. Met through Maven as well, and are partners in freakdom, tallness and special needs kids. We may not talk much, but your in my thoughts. If we lived closer together, I think we'd hang a lot more.

Geekster (again, real name fits better here). I think I actually met you first on the MUD, in those olden days *grins*. When we once called you Nergel and you were the god of chaos. I miss those days, but glad that I got friends like you from them. Your steadfast, true and HOT. *winks*

Zac-Attack aka Lawless! MUD buddy again, you can always make me smile as well. I'm glad, unlike Drew, you have not lost your Geek roots. We should WoW it out together sometime *winks*

So there, Canadians...hollering for a shout out. You know you are loved. Your kids are loved and I wish that you'd move Canada further south so I might actually want to live there *giggles*

Snow flakes and Green things

So its snowing here. After raining for 5 solid days, NOW it's snow. I'm not complaining, at all. It stops the dog from tracking the oh-so-spring-like mud all over my house. So we have snow flakes and Volume's nose is leaking green and has been for a week. SO off to the doc we go. Trouble has it as well, but his nose is clear to the occasional yellow. This will be oh so fun, since I am sick as well. The Master, who can take drugs, is meeting us there to help reign in the twin terrors. I cannot take drugs because decongestants KNOCK ME OUT. in fact, I get laughed at for taking day quill at bedtime rather than NyQuil to avoid sleeping for 13 hours AND having a NyQuil hang over. I'm not meant for the hard stuff, people.

Shout out to Elfiekins (smurf) and Chance for getting us started on our WoW (world of warcraft) addiction. Thanks ever so much ;) . And to Elf for getting Piglet and I hooked up with Vaxia (http://www.vaxia.org/) characters. Now my life is complete!

Shout out to Maven (Kraft Dinner) because she thinks she deserves one. For what? I'm not sure. For having 3 holy terrors of her own? For dealing with my inane ramblings on the phone? For being in Canada? I dunno...but quit whining, there's your shout out :P

Things that go bump...at school?

Monday, at the grocery store and I was loading things into the van. I checked my cell, because for some reason, I can't get calls in Meijer. I can MAKE them, but they never seem to come to me. low and behold, a missed call. It was school, so I called and checked in on the boys. They broke out in bumps and they were calling the school nurse and could I come get them. Sure, of course, I'll be right there. (stop at Aldis for 5 and get the last things I needed...THEN right there).

Nurse is baffled "Doesn't look like pox or an allergic reaction" she says, oh so helpfully. "But I'd take them home anyway and watch it." I did, they faded and came back and then we were hit with a fever. So I called and made an appt for Tuesday. Since they MIGHT be chickenpox, our Pediatrician takes us through the back door and right into a room. They come in and look em over and no, they aren't pox (they DID have the vaccination for them). She says "Its a virus, I hesitate to say hand foot and mouth disease, because its NOT that, but like that." Of course, as you all know, not much to do for a virus. They aren't contagious if they don't have a fever for 24 hours. So home again today. No fever yesterday, but they slept in till 830 and volume is STILL out and its almost 9. So I'm figuring they need their rest and won't nap for me, so this is best.

Thats been my life. I was supposed to start taking pics of the playboys to sell, measure some swords, bag some comics, and clean the house this week...that all went out the window for Einstein and books and computer books...mommy! so tomorrow, I may get something done, I may prop my feet up, drink a coffee and read my book. I dunno yet. We'll see what kinda mood I'm in.

Catchy Blog Title Here

I couldn't think of anything exciting to title this, mainly because I have no clue what I'm even doing blogging today except that everyone else has and I want to contribute to the "look we have stuff to read". I should be writing last weeks Buffy recap (yes, I run a buffy RPG and yes, we post up little summaries like you would read about an episode and YES I'm a geek) but I have to think of a catchy title for that too. So I'll do that next.

Shout out to Justin this week, who once again proved why on that day in the 7th grade on the bus home when he turned around and said "I'm Justin Lynch, who the hell are you?" that we became such fast friends by sending me the following email after seeing me on Saturday (I said something about drooping the autistic bomb on him):
"it would have been a bomb if you gave birth to toasters i think or maybe smelly socks, but you having kids is pretty fucking cool and it's not so weird that they're autistic cos they're gonna grow up and realize how unweird, boring and irredeemably normal their parents and their parents friends are...so you see were the bomb... justin "
So the shout out goes to my favorite lead singer of my favorite band and my favorite friend from the 7th grade. I so adore you and you make me smile. welcome back to my reality. Hope you like the sky being purple as much as I do.

Its Friday...and its Girls Night Out this week...Piglet, Smurf and I are heading south to Chancy's house. We have to figure out what were doing for dinner on the way. I'm hoping for Fondue. Then these geeky chicks that we are (Piglets the main girly girl of us) are going to soak in the hot tub (if it stops raining), play video games on the big screen TV and play the OOTS (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html) card game. Wake up late and make a big breakfast and have NO KIDS for me and Piglet. It should be a fantastic girls night out that any man could enjoy. Of course, some wanted to come *cough*kyle*cough* and even offered to wear a dress, but we try and keep these things to the estrogen based life forms. Even if I barely meet the requirements. the point is I meet them.

So thats my weekend plans. I also have to make my character for the Jedi's game that starts next week. The Master and I are going to play one character and alternate weeks. We decided that our mom was pregnant with twins and was a magic user and some spell went wrong. Two souls got stuck in one body. That way we can play "two" characters and still only have one of us there at a time. Grace will be my name and his will be Hope. Should be interesting, to say the least. It makes for less in the way of babysitters :)

2007....wow

I can remember when 2000 seemed so much like a "future age". Oh well, its now 2007 and my kids will be four this year in 3 months, in fact. amazing that *I* have four year old twin boys!?! anyway, they went to Grandmas for new years and The Master and I had a nice quiet weekend. Full of meals out, Computer games and lots of time in bed....and various other places around the house. *grins* yeah yeah, TMI, I know. But we started the new year off with a bang *snickers at her own joke* it was fantastic.

On Saturday, I went to finally see one of my favorite local bands live (finally) now that the bars are smoke free (much to Justin's dismay...hes the lead singer, smoker and a longtime friend of mine. As is the bass player, Aaron) http://worldwidewojo.com/ They were fantastic, as always. I adore their stuff. Live, "The Master" got to hear Justin's self-deprecating sense of humor and loved it. Aaron has a new wife, who I got to meet as well *hops*. All in all a good night. I SO need to pick up their new CD.

Hope this year is much better than 2006. It started off well, lets hope the trend continues!

NOT FOR KIDS ;) but I GOTTA ask

The Master and I were on the subject of virginity the other evening (no don't ask why) but we got to talking about the technicality of it all. I mean, TECHNICALLY your only a virgin until you have vaginal sex. So does this mean that all gay people are Virgins? If its not just vaginal sex, what is it exactly that pops your cherry? We were arguing over oral sex and I can see his side, but it really doesn't seem to make you "not" a virgin. So I'm asking the masses. What is it that you consider HOW to lose a cherry?

*grins*

Just call me Pickles

So the family was less chaotic than I thought they would be. My niece, youngest of 4 (all older brothers), got an Amazing Allysen doll for Christmas. http://www.playmatestoys.com/html/amazing_allysen/index.htm So shes going through the set up on this thing (Freaky as it is) and its asking what she wants the doll to call her as a nickname. Its listing off the examples like "Sweetie, Girlfriend, Best friend, Cutie"... the last one it lists is "Pickles". I'm standing nearby and I say "Pickles?" and Allysen says "OK, Pickles!" My niece almost started crying and all the adults burst into laughter. I think we laughed for like 20 minutes over the Pickles nickname. She was able to reset the doll over and took it into the other room to reset it so I didn't accidentally tell it anything else. It was the highlight of our Christmas I think.

So call me pickles. I thought it was better than Girlie...which is what she picked. We all expect the doll to turn on one night and try to kill everyone. The Master said it was the bride of Chuckie. Poor girl in a family of boys can't even get a doll and not get picked on. The youngest of DramaQueen's boys got a vibrating Ipod seat for the car. odd gift for a 12 year old, but he adored it. Both my boys loved it too. I think it reminded them of their vibrating bouncy chairs. Definitely an ODD Christmas, but better than we hoped.

Eve of the Eve

Gaming...Gaming good. Family...Family BAD. There is no words to speak of the unavoidable dread I am feeling at seeing my mother tomorrow. My only good thing is knowing that it only lasts 3 hours...less if Trouble and Volume don't nap. Next year, I'm not going through this. If I start, someone bonk me on the head and point be back to this entry. THIS is why people kill themselves on the holidays.

In other news...its not the least bit snowy either. But I do get chocolate, and lots of it. AND I get to game tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday. That should make up for the family hell.

Everyone else..have a merry Christmas for me. I'll try and have a happy new year *grins*

Twas the Tuesday before Christmas

Is it bad that I'm dreading the holidays? The Master gets no time off except the two Mondays and the kids are off school from this friday until Jan 3rd. My mom, we'll call her DramaWhore is living up to her name sake, My sister, Faerie, isn't being so bad...but Family drama is unavoidable around this time of year. The Master once said, after spending a holiday with my family, "Now I know why people commit suicide around the holidays." My kids, also, have no idea what all this present stuff is about. So while we're saving money, we're not getting to enjoy the joy of Christmas morning.

So ba humbug? You Betcha! My christmas spirit, instead, is in cleaning out my closets and donating what I don't want to the Vietnam Vets. It gets my house organized and my giving nature saited.

Did I mention The Master still hasn't decided what he wants for Chrsitmas either? ;) *laughs*

She stops to eat the Flowers in the garden of her choise

This is a painting that my Sister-In-Law from AZ did. I adore it. it hangs on the wall in the room we sleep in when we visit The Master's parents. I dunno why, but it always makes me smile. It may be the colors, but its beautiful.
I decided to share it with you hoping to spread some beauty in this world. There are so many ugly things. You just need to turn on the news to see them. Sometimes, you need to look no further than outside your front door. Sometimes less. I, at least, have to look farther, and am thankful for that. The holidays seem to have extra ugliness for added flavor I suppose. Either way, beauty should be found where we can. In a painting, a friend or even just a song on the radio at just the perfect time.
Hidden amongst all the craziness that is life, take a moment to stop and smell the proverbial flowers. It just may save your sanity.

Never ending weekend...

So they caught a cold Saturday and "the master" spent most of the weekend helping a friend with his shower. I had sick kids for the past 4 days...and they didn't go to school. I'm tired and fried and my house is a mess. Was supposed to do most of the cleaning this week. I'm on my knees beging the powers that be to send them to school tomorrow so I can be insane, and take that time to clean my house *laughs insanely to prove shes not insane*. Then I shall relax while they are at school Thursday. Lets hope God is kind to me!!!

Sorry for the short thoughts, but my brain is mush...kinda like oatmeal.

Go Number 8 GO!

So The Master's work christmas party was last eve and they held it at a local horse race track. I admit, I was a bit skeptical at how betting on animals using even the best methods would be fun. I decided I needed to test this however. I obtained 4 dollars from him and watched the second race (for we had missed the first). I picked a horse, Stormin Baghdad. No, not on the name, on the jockey's stats. I thought about trying to figure out the horse stats, but there were so many of them and they were hard to read. Low and behold, #4, Stormin Baghdad, won the race with 4 to 1 odds. So if I HAD bet on him, my 2 dollar bet would of turned into 8 dollars, I think. I hate math...but I was hooked.

theres about 20-25 min between each race, so I went to studying horses and jockeys and let the Master take a look at the list too. I was trying to decide between Free Drinks and Swerve. He said I should bet on Free Drinks because he had a better name. So I did..to place (which means he'll get first or second). And I won...turned my 2 into 5. Number 8, Free drinks yeilded me a return to feed my addiction.

Pouring over the next race stats over salad and rabbit food, I was in a quandry. There was one who looked like a great bet, but 5-2 odds wern't a great pay off. The second one was a good contender, but better odds at 20-1. I went with the beter odds and lose. Though, the other horse didn't win that one either. 2 more losses in a row, some dinner and I was back down to a dollar and decided that was good enough entertainment for 3 dollars worth.

I went home, happy, with my race book in hand, having proved that there is no rhyme or reason to horse betting so you might as well pick the one with the name you like *grins*

Mawwaige. Mawwaige is what bwings us togethah today. Mawwaige that bwessed awwangement, that dweam within a dweam.

Mawwaige...er Marriage. What has happened in the water of the world that just about everyone I know is having marriage problems? From the petty fights to the full blown divorces, marriage isn't what its cracked up to be lately in my circle of friends.

According to some news sources, The jump in the number of divorces has come recently, with statistics showing that the number has doubled in the last three years alone. Why is this anyway? What has made Americans (and Canadians) feel divorce is the best answer?

I, personally, hate the word..the thought of it gives me nightmares. Why do people give up so easily? Do we live in such a face paced world that everything should equate to fast food levels? What happened to the turkey that takes all day to cook? Don't people realize that things have fluxes and take time and need work and TLC? I just hate to see so many give up so easily. I, for one, would never give up so easily.

So hang in there...from the petty arguments, to the life changes, to the ones who are fed up beyond repair. Who am I to give love advice? I love my husband, very much. That has to count for something, right?

American Turkey Day

"Anya: To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie. " (to quote one of my favorite shows, buffy the vampire slayer)

So were traveling to perform our ritual sacrifice in another state. A colder, less populated state...with pie...and family. Going to see The Master's parents and 2 step sisters and one brother and a few nieces and nephews. Shouldn't be that big a to do and hopefully trouble and volume will have a good time. So I've been spending my days cleaning and getting ready for that. No deep thoughts here, just deep cleaning and heavy packing. just warning you blogger fans that I won't get back to my blogging until after the trip. ;)

Have a good turkey day, Americans. Canadians, have a good weekend. All the rest of you, have a good whatever it happens to be in your country. Miss ya all!

The Life of Weekends...

You start out life as a kid, and before school begins, every day seems like a weekend. The only difference on the weekends is perhaps that visit to grandmas or the fact that dad or mom is home and not at work. Sometimes, those weekends even fell midweek depending on mom or dad's job. All was great in the life of a preschooler.

Then, starting school, you LIVED for the weekends! Saturday morning cartoons...Bike rides with freinds...Snowball fights and in general, just relaxation. Yes, there were always chores and what not, but those were such a small part of the weekend. Summer vacation went by so fast as the longest weekend of the year and holiday weeks were always too short.

As an adult, single adult, weekends (Whenever they fell) were for socilization. Gaming, Parties, What not always fell after work. You worked to get more money to party and to get by on ramen and pay the bills you HAD too. Weekends were YOUR time and they were fun. Yeah, sometimes chaotic or things didn't go your way, but weekends were yours!

Get married and those weekends, though sometimes contain errands, are spent with that one you love the most. Going to see movies, gaming, parties, just cuddling at home...whatever. Still fun, but getting a bit more relaxed. Mostly weekends are still a good time.

Then you have kids and the weekends start all over, but now they are for them. Your weekends become secondary to their needs and the needs of things to get done. Not to say they aren't still fun at times, but they are also packed with everything NEEDING to get done. Hence the cycle of weekends shifts to the new generation.

Hence my summation of weekends...and hating why I always seem to get sick on the weekends too. I have good ones...even great ones, but I miss the carefree days of weekends past.
